Once, before time had shape, a radiant little soul stood beside the Creator, glowing with the brilliance of Spirit.
“I want to experience who I am,” the soul said.
Creator smiled. “To do that, you’ll need to forget for a while. You’ll need to walk through shadows so you can see your own light.”
“But won’t I be afraid?” asked the soul.
“Yes,” said Creator. “But I will send helpers. Some will guide you gently, others will challenge you. All will help you remember.”
A nearby soul stepped forward. “I’ll be one of those,” she said. “I’ll meet you in the darkness and do something you won’t understand. And when I do—remember who I am.”
The soul nodded, trembling, but full of trust.
And so it was.
The soul was born into a world of colours and contrast. There was laughter, tears, confusion, beauty, and pain. It forgot its brilliance, forgot the promise.
Until one day, someone hurt the soul deeply.
In that moment—sobbing, lost—the soul remembered.
Not just the pain… but the agreement.
And suddenly, the pain turned to light. Forgiveness burst forth like morning sun.
In that spark of remembering, the soul awoke.
And every step after, it walked not in fear—but in light, even when the path grew dark.
Because it finally knew:
The darkness had only ever been the backdrop
to its own divine radiance.

Service reflection
Key Theme: You Are Here to Shine—Even in the Darkness
This service shares a profound spiritual truth:
- Our soul’s light can only be recognised when we enter contrast. In the same way the little soul in heaven needed darkness to experience its own light, we are reminded that our challenges and emotional shadows are opportunities to awaken to who we truly are.
- We are here to learn and embody Divine qualities—like forgiveness, kindness, peace, unity, and love—not just in theory, but through practice.
- We are never alone. We are connected to one another through Spirit and soul, and every experience is a collaboration designed for growth.
In essence: Your light shines brightest in the dark. Embrace every experience as sacred, and remember—you are always supported in your soul’s unfolding.
