Story: “The Sponge of Forgiveness”

Mira sat at her old kitchen table, cradling a cup of tea.

Outside, Easter blooms were fading. But inside, something was just beginning.

She thought of all the times she’d hurt. All the things she’d said. All the things she’d left unsaid.

Then she remembered a message from that morning’s Easter service:

“Use the sponge of forgiveness to wipe the slate clean.”

She stood, found an old sponge, and dipped it in warm water.

She wiped her bench.

She wiped her windows.

She wiped the tiny whiteboard on her fridge.

Each motion was small, but something inside her shifted.

She whispered:

“I forgive you…
I forgive me…
I let it go.”

Outside, a leaf dropped from the tree.

It didn’t fight.

It simply fell—gracefully—making room for the new.

Poetic Close:

You don’t need to wait for spring to bloom.
Forgiveness is a season of the soul.

Begin again.
In love.
In peace.
In light.

Service Reflection

Key Theme: New Life Begins with Love and Forgiveness—You Can Start Again, Anytime

The Easter service beautifully emphasised the message of renewal, spiritual awakening, and letting go of the past:

  • Easter is about rebirth—not just of nature, but of the spirit. Though it may be autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, the energy of transformation is still present and accessible.
  • We can begin again—at any time. By using the “sponge of forgiveness,” we can wipe the slate clean and live with love, compassion, and understanding.
  • Let go of the past to make room for joy. True happiness comes from releasing resentment and embracing the now.
  • Love starts within. Through the Loving Treatment meditation, participants were guided to nourish their bodies, homes, relationships, and spirits with love, care, and self-acceptance.
  • Peace is strength. The Happy Man story reminded us that calmness, self-awareness, and compassion are not signs of weakness, but of deep spiritual power.

In essence: Easter invites us to forgive, renew, and walk forward in love. The past is not the prison—it’s the path we choose to release.
